From estate sales and private collections to one-of-a-kind pieces from decades past, we handpick everything that makes it into our shop. We specialize in bold statement fashion, retro home goods, pop culture finds, and the unexpected gems that spark conversation and nostalgia. If it’s funky, rare, or loud—we probably have it.
Meet the Team
Decaydence Vintage was founded by Tomas Short and Jim Long, co-owners with a mission to bring bold, unforgettable vintage to downtown Grand Rapids — and have a damn good time doing it.
Tom – Head Curator & Co-Owner
An avid life-long vintage hunter, Tom is the heart and eye of Decaydence. With a sixth sense for spotting the weird, rare, and wonderful, he’s the one digging through estate sales at dawn, curating our racks with intention, and giving vintage new life. From sequined disco to midcentury minimalism, he’s got a soft spot for anything with a story — and a sharp eye for what will fly off the racks. If you’ve ever complimented something you found here, chances are Tom picked it.
Jim – Business Everything & Co-Owner
With over 30 years in the business world and a serious entrepreneurial streak, Jim brings the operational backbone to Decaydence. He handles everything from licenses and legalities to tech, marketing, and systems — the unglamorous but essential stuff that keeps the lights on. A lifelong storyteller with a background in creative writing, he’s also the one behind our cheeky signage, unhinged TikToks, and the general vibe of “organized mayhem” that defines the shop. He’ll talk your ear off if you let him — and he probably wrote this paragraph.
